History

Our business started in 1965 in Orchard Park,NY, founded by Joseph McDonnell. Mr. McDonnell began with no showroom and carried samples in the back of his station wagon. The garage at his home served as the young company's first warehouse/storage facility.

Starting as a supplier to new home builders, the first satellite retail location was opened in 1974 and has since expanded to 8 WNY full service locations. Today, we have grown to over 75 employees and over 50 installation crews for a total workforce of over 150.

Custom Carpet Centers has become the Number One floorcovering dealer in the WNY area. We have three distinct divisions: retail/residential, commercial/contract and new home builder, each specializing in the very specific needs of those specific customers.

Our areas of expertise include carpeting, vinyl flooring, laminate flooring, VCT (vinyl composition tile), ceramic tile and hardwood. For over 35 years, we have continued to maintain a strict policy that we will never sell seconds or off goods to any of our customers.

We have also developed a quick response customer service team concept, known as "Room Service" that continually monitors and responds to customer issues. Custom Carpet Centers does nightly follow up phone calls to its recently installed customers and does an additional quarterly mailing to a large percentage of our customer base, which has consistently resulted in over 97% of our customers responding that they would recommend Custom Carpet Centers to a friend.

OUR PURPOSE AND MISSION SINCE 1965

1. We are in the business of determining our customer's flooring needs, then providing them with the floorcovering solution that best suits their individual needs, both in terms of value and effectiveness.
2. We will always offer the best quality floorcovering available, from the industry's leading manufacturers, at a fair and reasonable price. Also, and very important, we will never deal in seconds or off-goods.<
3. After a customer has decided to purchase from us, we will see that their order is quickly, efficiently and accurately processed, so as to avoid any perceived problems caused by defective paperwork or missed internal communication.
4. When it comes time for a customer to have their floorcovering picked-up, delivered or installed, we will do it neatly, professionally and with the highest level of workmanship, efficiency and pleasantness possible.
5. We will always deliver what we promise.
6. In the unlikely event that we run into a problem, mistake or discrepancy, we will quickly attempt to make good, solve or alleviate the problem in as fair and equitable manner that we can.
7. Finally, we will attempt to make every customer a Custom Carpet Center "Customer And Friend For Life."
